When Procrastination Leads to Crunch Time!

That Moment When Procrastination Leads to Crunch Time!

All the things you kept putting off are finally approaching their deadlines, all at once it seems, especially with the end of the year approaching - what do you do?

Have you had that moment when you're questioning your sanity, thinking of all the wasted time and moments you could have gotten stuff done, wondering if you over-committed or just weren't committed enough..?

I'm sure we've all been there. Convincing ourselves we 'work better under pressure, anyway'. Feeling the stress and the strain of trying to get too much done in too little time...

What are we supposed to do when we hit that point. Searching for any options or opportunities to jump ship and find an easier path. Searching for a way forward to still attempt to get it all done on time. Not knowing which path to take!

Is there a right path to take in this scenario? You tell me! What would you do, what do you do when confronted with this scenario?

Carving a Path Forward

There's no wrong answer here, ultimately, you know what your life looks like and only you know which path forward will be the most aligned with that you need to do.

I am always tempted to lean towards shifting into high gear and doing my best to get it all done. To test myself and prove to me that I can accomplish what I've set out to do. But, recently, I'm realizing that although you can it may not mean that you should - and although you don't it does not mean that you can.

Learning to strike that balance between doing and resting, and even between different aspects of your life is such an important skill to learn and often involves listening to your own intuition and reflecting on how you're truly feeling, and the desires that you have for yourself, and your life.

My recommendations for working through these moments are to reflect and give yourself grace. Journalling is an incredible tool for self-connection and reflection. (Keep your eyes on this space because I am creating an intro to journalling course as we speak!) A simple notebook or loose-leaf paper works perfectly, especially when you're just starting out! The important thing is to build up your consistency - daily is ideal - and to ensure that you journal at a time in the day where you're able to build up a ritual that works for you and your life.
